Local Artist Angela Hughes, has started a drawing school in the valley, for those budding Artists (and more accomplished creative sorts) to practice their skills in front of a life model with a professional tutor at hand to help hone the old hand-eye coordination. 

My wife attended previous classes and her progress over the 6 weeks meant that all our friends all got a hand-drawn originals as festive gifts. - Alex

Dear All ,

 

Following the Open Studios event at 36 Lime Street last November. As Director of Drawing -Space I am writing to update you on the recent developments of Drawing - Space.We had had a fantastic response to our project and I am now delighted to announce the first series of drawing sessions coming up in August and September.

 

 

You may remember that I am a Professional Artist with 16 years of experience also as  a tutor and Part  - Time lecturer . I have worked with a variety of students from beginners, at University Degree MA, PhD levels. I have worked within departments of Fine Art and Architecture. I have also worked with other professionals from a variety of different fields.

 

 

Following a series of highly successful pilot drawing sessions last year we are launching Drawing – Space with one day of three two-hour Drawing - Space Taster sessions on Saturday 25th August. Following these sessions there will be a series of further 6 -week courses. These sessions will be based in:

 

 

 

The studio on level 4, at 36, Lime Street. Ouseburn Valley, Byker  NE1 2PQ (ring the buzzer for Angela Hughes)

 

 

Each weekly session will last for 3 hrs and each group will not exceed more than 10 students. Session will be very informal. Halfway through the session refreshments will be provided. As your Tutor, I will be teaching you on an individual basis within the group. Before coming to the sessions I will give you instructions about what materials you will need to bring. Drawing boards and easels will be provided.

 

 

These sessions are open to participants of all levels of ability backgrounds and experience.

9.30 – 11.30            12.00pm – 2.00pm            2.30pm – 4.30pm

 

Max 30 students over the day (10 per session)

 

Fees: These sessions are free and are on a first come first served basis.

 

 

Materials: paper and charcoal will be provided, please bring any other materials with you that you would like to use.

LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS (max 10 students per session)

 

 

Thursday 30th August 6.00pm - 9.00pm 6 weeks

 

Saturday 1st September 10.00am  - 1.00pm 6 weeks

 

 

*Please note additional Sessions can be arranged at other times over the coming months so do let me know if the dates and times are difficult for you, as it may be possible to offer other times, if there are also other students who require them.

 

 

Fees:    £30 per 3-hour session. - Whole 6 weeks Course is  £180.

Deposit of £60 payable in advance and balance of £120 payable at the start of the sessions.
